Scenic cruises run every Saturday and Sunday from the Hamilton Gardens jetty at 12:30pm and 2.30pm between October through to May.
Our 12.30pm cruise takes in the beautiful section of river immediately upstream from Hamilton crossing into Waikato and Waipa districts. About the Waikato River Explorer
Home base for the Waikato River Explorer is Mystery Creek Events Centre, but she spends most of her days in Hamilton doing scheduled and charter cruises. Built in 1979, the Waikato River Explorer is 14.35 metres long and powered by a 260 HP Volvo diesel engine. She is licensed to carry up to 87 people and has capacity for 50 seated diners. Winter Narrows Cruises - What better way to spend a cold winters afternoon than on the Waikato River Explorer cruising up through the spectacular Narrows. From 1 June through to the end of October, we will be running this 2 hour cruise each Saturday departing from Hamilton Gardens at 12.30pm.
